Sherry spent 25 years in public service working with the City of Westminster starting her career as a staff accountant and ultimately retiring from the City as Interim City Manager in 2021. Following her retirement, Sherry has spent time working in the City of Fountain Valley, Seal Beach, and Westminster serving as interim Finance Director and as a financial consultant. During her role as interim, she mentored and developed the teams around her and spearheaded the recruiting process to fill the full-time positions with strong candidates. Sherry Johnson has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton and is a CPA. Her experience includes extensive finance management, budgeting, utility services (water, sewer, storm drain, street sweeping & trash) including rate/cost analysis, ten & twenty-year budget & cash flow modeling, 218 compliance, successful ballot revenue measures, purchasing/warehouse operations, and multiple Enterprise Resource (ERP) software system. She also has experience working as an accountant for a restaurant corporation, a technology corporation, and as a consultant for an accounting software company.
